The Doral community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Melanie Hyer, 46, and her two daughters, Savannah Whiten, 11, and Sienna Whiten, 8, who were found deceased inside a Doral Isles residence on Tuesday evening in an incident authorities are investigating as an apparent murder-suicide.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Homicide Bureau, officers with the Doral Police Department responded shortly after 7:30 p.m. to conduct a welfare check at a home in the Catalina section of the gated community. The request reportedly came from a concerned family friend.
